
Habitat
Coastal birds inhabit old-growth or recently logged forests year round. Inland birds occur on forest edges in the summer and coniferous forests in the winter (Kaufman 1996). In Alaska, found in coniferous and mixed forests and dwarf conifer forests at treeline (Andres 1999b). Breeding habitat includes herb, grass, shrub layer (Zwickel and Bendell 1985).
